NHS Staff Survey Results – 2019
Thank you to all organisations who participated in the 2019 NHS Staff Survey. This year, the survey went out to over 1.1million staff across 300 NHS organisations in England.
Staff were eligible to take part if they were employed directly by an NHS organisation on 1st September 2019. The number of staff members who took part in the survey between October and December 2019, via either a postal or online questionnaire, was 569,440. This constituted an overall response rate of 48% for the 2019 Staff Survey.
This website allows users to view national and local results from the survey through a series of interactive dashboards.
A small number of changes were made to some benchmark reports and directorate reports, as well as the online dashboards and the data available to download on 28 February 2020. The changes include a change of response rate for one trust, which has affected the Mental Health / Learning Disability benchmark group mean response rate only (it has changed from 53.2% to 53.3%). Two CCG organisations’ labels have changed, which has not changed any results. The directorate results for a small number of organisations have also been amended.
